Doha (i)
Finally the day for me to go on my holiday!
WOOHOO!
FAR FAR AWAY FINALLY!
Was waiting patiently for the QR staff to call me for check-in, and I saw the Wushu team waiting for check-in as well. Didn't see Vincent Ng though.
Sigh...
And some minister was there to send
On flight I slept only for a while coz I wanted to watch more movies, but I only managed to catch 3 movies; You, Me and Dupree, Step Up and The Illusionist.
Dammit.
But no worries, I'll get my chance on the Shanghai flight. To and fro, and back to SG.
*my poor ass*
*my poor bladder* - I didn't go to the toilet for the whole 8 hours on flight. Steady hor? The lady sitting beside me was... HUGE... and I didn't feel like bothering her. So...
Anyways, I was blardie glad when the plane touched down.
BUT. It took me quite some time to clear the immigration.
Those who wanna come to Doha, please get ready 100 Riyals for Visa on Arrival, only payable by Credit Cards. If you don't have CCs, good luck.
Also get ready to be delayed by the luggage collection. A few others and mine were 'lost' coz they mixed it up with the Wushu team.
The team was told to stay in the aircraft upon landing, coz they had people to welcome them.
FWAH.
And they had personal transport.
FWAH FWAH.
And their luggage were brought to them (that's why ours were MIA).
FWAH FWAH FWAH.
But they didn't have FAMILY to welcome them.
=D=D=D
Took a cab from the airport to Pig's apartment @ Al Sadd.
The cab not very cheap lor. Starting from airport, we need to pay a surcharge of 7 Riyals*.
And on the way to the appartment, I see lots of these...
Rubbles... Buildings... More rubbles and MORE buildings.
OK. Bad choice for a holiday for 6 days.
Oh well...
Upon reaching the apartment, met her indian housemate, went into the room, changed into some comfortable wear, cleared my luggage of VEGE, went back into the room, I SLEEP.
*snore*
2 hours later...
After we woke up, pig called for transport and out we go! (Obviously we did change into some decent clothes la...)
BTW, the temperature was around 20°C. Cool, but not cold.
YET.
We made our first stop at her office to attempt to pick up some shoes. But dunno what happened lah, she didn't manage to get them.
The driver next took us to Landmark.
Sidetrack: It's cheaper to catch a taxi (with meter) rather than private transport. But it's not as easy as in Singapore. You have to be aggressive to be able to get into one. Maybe those idiots who snatches my taxi in Singapore were in this area before... Why not the buses? I'm not diva diva ok, I don't mind taking buses. But according to Pig, only the guys take buses here. I don't want to create world record.
Anyways, we were shopping VERY HAPPILY in Landmark.
I bought a yellow dress from Mango, some tees from Pull and Bear. Pig, the semi-local, bought MORE than me.
Next we proceeded to the supermarket.
Can you believe that 1 chinese cabbage (白菜) costs 17 Riyals?!
It's crazy!!!
Most of the vege are blardie expensive as well. So if you ever have the chance to come to Doha, EAT OUT.
We got a few stuffs for the steamboat tonight at the apartment and left the building.
The 15 minutes in the supermarket walk costed us 200+ Riyals.
Went home and started preparing for the steamboat.
Dinner was supper in Singapore time. We started eating only ard 7.30pm, which was 12.30am in Singapore.
Nearly dropped my head into the steamboat.
The guy on my left, K, cooked the curry crab! Steady leh...
After eating for like 2 hrs, the guests started to leave coz K had a plane to catch.
Pig and me cleared, washed up and fell asleep before Mab comes back from flight.
I'm waiting to see how much my waistline increased when I'm back in SIN.
GAWDZ.
prev < > next
*1SGD = 2.3Riyals
