back ache!

I had my 3rd session of Yoga last evening... here's a recollection of what we did...

First, we start by calming ourselves down through breathing... Covering the left nostril, breathe in through right nostril, and out through left nostril. Now reverse, and breathe in through the left, and out through the right. Repeat for around 5 min. We did all these in the sitting position; the normal cross legged position, or half lotus, or full lotus if we can.

I only can do the normal sitting cross legged position. :(

After we've calmed ourselves down, breathing normal, teacher Kristin made us do the tree pose. We start with the mountain pose, which is just the standing position.

(sorry for the bad example. our only male student wasn't around yesterday and i thought he might look like this when doing the mountain pose.)

After mountain pose, slowly we had to shift our weight to our left foot (1st).

Hold our hands in a praying position in front of our chest (breasts for me...) or straight above our head(s). Stay in that position for about 3-5 minutes, and repeat with the right foot.

The next pose is what everyone will learn if you take up Yoga.

~Sun Salutation~

Step 7 is the cobra pose.

Yep.. the Cobra pose. Not serpent. C-O-B-R-A.

-_______-'''

This, by far, is my favourite pose in Sun Salutation. Child's pose.

After doing 6 sets of the sun salutation (6 on each leg), she made us do the tree pose again.

Now comes the most difficult one (for the day). Shoulder stand. But most of the time i was.........

Then finally i managed to get my legs back... but...

Sigh... i just couldn't get them up! ah well... after several tries, i gave up...

Finally the whole class looked like this after 5 minutes of trying...

well, at least i did... hurhurhur...

and what i really nid now is...
