our first jap lesson

Joseph, CL and I (FINALLY) signed up for Beginners' Jap Course at Tampines West CC. Last nite was our first lesson. We were about 15 min late, but weren't the latest! Phew... That is our teacher, Mr Yan. He very lor soh! probably he was trying to buy time whilst waiting for the last 2. He started yakking on his life story, how he got into the Uni there, blah blah blah...

And I was staring on his toupee while trying to digest what he told us...

Finally the last 2 students arrived and he started with the map of Japan. >toupee< The locations, where he stayed while he was there, etc. >toupee< He was an I.E. I'm an IT nerd. I.E = Industrial Engineer. >toupee<

Then he proceeded to the pronunciations. A, I, U, E, O. Ka, Ki, Ku, Ke, Ko...
Suddenly he made everyone recite them. One by one. Stressed sia!

At the end of the lesson, Joseph pointed out a geographical mistake Mr Yan made. Okinawa is not at the top, but at the bottom. OOOooooooh...
